Planting Tips

Plant bulbs in fall, 3–4 inches deep in well-drained, fertile soil. Space 6–8 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Good drainage is essential- bulbs will rot in wet soil.

Care Tips

Water regularly during spring growth and bloom. After flowering, allow the foliage to die back naturally before removing it. The large, flat-topped, silvery-purple flower heads can be left to dry on the plant for ornamental interest through summer- they are beautiful in dried arrangements as well. Divide crowded clumps every 3–4 years in fall. Fertilize lightly in early spring as growth begins. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. One of the most ornamental ornamental onions available.
