Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 12-18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential- moss phlox will not tolerate wet or poorly drained soil.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Shear back by one-third immediately after flowering to maintain a compact, tidy mound and encourage dense new growth. No fertilization generally needed. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. Purple Beauty produces a vivid, rich purple flower carpet in early spring- one of the most intensely colored moss phlox selections available. The bold purple completely covers the fine, needle-like, evergreen foliage for a spectacular spring display. An excellent rock garden and edging plant.
