What is Spotswood Greenery?

We’re an online plant retailer run by experienced horticulture professionals. Our focus is on bringing high-quality plants straight from growers we know and trust to your doorstep.

What do your sizes mean?

Using numbers for sizes is nursery industry shorthand for approximate size classes and how established a plant is. They don’t correspond exactly to gallons but we use them for reference. Here is what the common sizes we use at Spotswood Greenery mean:

  • #1 Container – Comparable to a 1-gallon pot. Typically used for young perennials, grasses and the occasional shrub.

  • #2 Container – About the size of a 2-gallon pot. This size is used for our larger perennials  and is the smallest container size used for most of our shrubs. Plants in #2 containers have a more established root system and provide quicker landscape impact than #1.

#3 Container – Comparable to a 3-gallon pot. This size is mostly used for our more mature shrubs and small ornamental trees, although you will see the occasional perennial listed in a #3. Plants at this size are more mature and will have a more immediate impact on your garden,
