Foliage starts deep green and turns a stunning scarlet red in autumn after the first frost. This tall, native grass provides vertical structure and vibrant late-season color.

Plant Red October Big Bluestem in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. Space plants 18-24 inches apart. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots. Once established, it is drought-tolerant. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced fertilizer. Cut back old growth in late winter or early spring before new growth appears.
