Planting Tips

Plant in moist to wet soil. Tolerates clay soil and periodic flooding well. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water generously and consistently- this native sedge thrives with reliable moisture and is an excellent choice for wet areas, rain gardens, and pond edges. Trim or mow the planting to a few inches in early spring to remove old foliage before fresh growth emerges. No fertilization needed. Divide every 4–5 years in spring if clumps become very dense. Essentially pest- and disease-free.
