Plant in moist to wet soil or at the edge of a pond or water feature where roots can reach shallow water. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Keep the soil consistently moist to wet- soft rush naturally grows in boggy, wet meadow, and pond edge habitats and requires reliable moisture. It tolerates standing water very well. Cut back to a few inches in early spring before new growth emerges. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. No fertilization generally needed. Largely pest-free. The upright, cylindrical, bright green stems are architecturally striking and provide year-round interest in wet areas, rain gardens, and water feature edges.
