Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 4–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Cut back to 4–6 inches in late winter or early spring- do not cut back in fall. Divide every 3–4 years in spring when the center begins to die out. Scout is a compact miscanthus selection with good cold hardiness and upright form. No fertilization needed. Largely pest-free. The feathery, silvery-pink plumes in late summer and warm fall foliage color provide excellent late-season interest. Verify sterility on the plant tag for your region.
