Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Cut back to within a few inches of the ground in early spring before new growth emerges- do not cut back in fall, as the rose-purple plumes and golden fall foliage are attractive through winter. Divide every 3–4 years in spring when the center begins to die out. The rosy-pink plumes that appear in late summer are among the most beautiful of any fountain grass selection.
