Plant in moist to average, well-drained soil. Space 12–15 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Trim back to a few inches in early spring to remove old foliage before fresh growth emerges. Divide every 3–4 years in spring if clumps become crowded. No fertilization generally needed. Largely pest-free. The fine-textured, arching foliage provides delicate movement and texture in shaded and partly shaded borders. An attractive, low-maintenance native sedge for naturalizing in woodland and shaded garden settings.
