Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently the first season; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering from midsummer into fall, or leave some seed heads for birds. Cut back to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Watch for aster yellows- distorted or malformed growth indicates infection; remove and discard affected plants immediately. Largely otherwise pest-free. The white ray petals surrounding an orange-gold cone create a cheerful, classic daisy effect.
