Blue Flag Iris

Plant with rhizomes at or just below the soil surface, or submerged to 4 inches of water for pond edge use. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water consistently and generously- blue flag iris is a native wetland plant that thrives with reliable moisture or even standing shallow water. It also adapts to average moist garden soil. Allow foliage to die back naturally in fall. Cut back in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in late summer when clumps become overcrowded. No fertilization is generally needed in fertile, moist soil. An excellent native plant for rain gardens, pond edges, and moist borders.
