Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 3–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is highly drought tolerant. No regular pruning is needed. Remove any dead branches as needed. Fertilize lightly in spring if desired. Tortuga® is a compact, low-spreading juniper with attractive, dense foliage and a reliable, well-behaved habit. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. An excellent, tough, low-maintenance ground-covering juniper for hot, dry, sunny slopes where good drainage is assured.
