Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in acidic, moist, well-drained soil with afternoon shade protection. Raspberry Glow is a mountain laurel with stunning, deep raspberry-pink flower buds that open to lighter pink flowers — one of the most richly colored mountain laurels available. Amend soil with peat or acidic compost if needed. Set the root ball at or just above grade, mulch 3–4 inches deep, and water well.

Care Tips

Remove spent flower clusters after bloom to encourage next year's bud development. Feed with an acid fertilizer in early spring. Keep soil consistently moist. Replenish mulch annually. All parts of mountain laurel are toxic if ingested. Raspberry Glow's deep bud color is extraordinary — the flower buds alone are ornamental before they even open. A beautiful, distinctive mountain laurel for woodland-style gardens with properly acidic soil.
