Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly. Good air circulation reduces powdery mildew pressure.

Care Tips

Water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued bloom and prevent excessive self-seeding. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 2–3 years in spring. Monitor for powdery mildew- this variety has improved resistance, but good air circulation always helps. The vivid, rich violet-blue flowers are among the deepest colored in the bee balm world and are produced over a long season. Highly attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies, and bumblebees.
