Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 15–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the season. Deadhead spent flower clusters to extend bloom and prevent self-seeding of inferior seedlings. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Monitor for powdery mildew- good air circulation and avoiding overhead watering help. Fertilize lightly in spring. The fragrant, lavender-blue flowers are produced over a long season on a compact, well-behaved plant. An excellent native phlox for shaded and partly shaded borders.
