Large, creamy white flower clusters in spring are followed by massive bunches of dark purple berries and features features lush, tropical-looking foliage. This vigorous shrub requires a pollinator such as York to fruit. Elderberries must be cooked before eating.

Plant Adams Elderberry in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade. Space plants 6-10 feet apart. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, to keep the soil consistently moist. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced fertilizer. Prune annually in late winter to remove dead or weak branches and encourage new growth. Protect from strong winds. Harvest berries when fully ripe, usually in late summer.
