David Austin® The Lady Gardener® Rose

Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 3–4 feet apart. This is a well-mannered, upright English rose that fits beautifully into mixed borders. Dig a generous planting hole, amend with compost, and water deeply. Mulch 2–3 inches deep and choose a site with good air movement. Space appropriately to allow the plant to develop its full, graceful form.

Prune in early spring, cutting healthy canes back by about one-third and removing all dead or weak wood. Deadhead throughout the season to keep new flowers coming. Fertilize every four to six weeks from spring through late summer. The Lady Gardener produces large, cup-shaped blooms in a warm apricot color with a strong tea-rose fragrance — one of the most elegantly scented of the English roses.
