Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Deadhead after the main bloom. Prune lightly in late winter or early spring to shape and remove any dead wood. Fertilize lightly in spring. The rich, blue-green foliage is unusually cool and distinctive in the spirea family, providing excellent color contrast with warm-toned companions in the mixed border. The bright pink flowers in summer provide a vivid accent. Largely pest-free.
