Standing Ovation® Serviceberry

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Space 5–8 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the trunk.

Water deeply and regularly the first 2–3 seasons. Once established it tolerates moderate drought. Little pruning is needed- remove dead or crossing branches in late winter. Fertilize lightly in spring. This upright, columnar selection is especially useful in narrow spaces. The white flowers in early spring, edible berries in summer that attract birds, and brilliant orange-red fall foliage make this a superb four-season native shrub. Largely pest- and disease-free.
