Parkland Pillar® Birch

Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Space 6–8 feet apart for a screening use. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the trunk.

Water deeply and regularly, especially during the first 2–3 seasons and dry periods. Once established it tolerates moderate drought. The naturally narrow, columnar form requires minimal pruning. Remove any dead or crossing branches in late fall or early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring. Monitor for bronze birch borer- keeping the tree healthy and well-watered is the best prevention. The attractive white bark and upright form make this an outstanding specimen for narrow spaces and formal landscape settings.
