Hardy Ageratum

Plant in moist to average, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. This native perennial is highly adaptable and tolerates partial shade.

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring when clumps become overcrowded. No fertilization generally needed. Hardy ageratum spreads modestly by self-seeding to form naturalistic groupings over time- remove seedlings if spread is unwanted. The fluffy, lavender-blue flowers in late summer and fall are highly attractive to pollinators. Largely pest-free and deer resistant.
