Nodding, star-shaped yellow flowers bloom on arching stems in summer. This native plant spreads to form a colony in moist soils, tolerating shade and wet conditions well.

Plant Fringed Loosestrife in spring or early fall in well-drained, moist soil with full sun to partial shade. Space plants 18-24 inches apart. Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells. Fertilize with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooms and prevent self-seeding. Divide clumps every 3-4 years in early spring to maintain vigor.
