Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 12-18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential- moss phlox will not tolerate wet or poorly drained soil.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Shear back by one-third immediately after flowering to maintain a compact, tidy mound and encourage dense new growth- skipping this step results in an open, woody center over time. No fertilization generally needed. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. Emerald Blue produces a stunning carpet of soft, sky-blue flowers in early spring that completely covers the fine, needle-like, evergreen foliage. The bright green foliage provides attractive year-round groundcover texture between bloom periods.
