Wands of yellow flowers bloom along the arching, blue-tinged stems in the leaf axils. This shade-tolerant native goldenrod behaves well, forming clumps rather than spreading aggressively.

Plant Blue Stem Goldenrod in well-drained soil with partial to full shade. Space plants 12-18 inches apart. Water regularly to establish roots, then reduce frequency as the plant is drought-tolerant. Fertilize lightly in early spring. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooms. Divide clumps every 3-4 years in early spring to maintain vigor.
