Snowmound Spirea

Plant in spring or fall in average, well-drained soil, spacing 3–4 feet apart. Snowmound is a compact, mounding spirea that produces masses of pure white flowers in late spring. The plant literally mounds under the weight of its flowers, creating a spectacular snowdrift effect. It adapts to average conditions without special soil preparation. Water well at planting and mulch lightly.

Prune right after flowering — spirea blooms on old wood. A light trim to shape after bloom encourages good branching for next year's display. Fertilize lightly in early spring. The profuse white bloom display in late spring is one of the most spectacular of any flowering shrub. Very easy and reliable. No heavy fertilizing is needed. A classic, dependable spring-blooming spirea for mixed borders and landscape plantings.
