Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in well-drained, fertile soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball. Provide a support structure- this variety can be grown as a large shrub or moderate climber. Space 6–8 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the canes.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently throughout the season. Deadhead spent blooms for continuous flowering. Prune in early spring to remove dead or damaged canes and shape. Fertilize with a rose fertilizer in spring and midsummer. Good disease resistance. The soft, blush-pink flowers are exquisitely beautiful with a strong, musky fragrance. The Generous Gardener is one of the most graceful and elegant of all English climbing roses.
