Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently throughout the season- reliable moisture is essential and the most important factor in astilbe care. Fertilize in spring and after flowering with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Divide every 3–4 years in spring or fall when the center of the clump begins to thin. The tall, upright, deep purple-violet flower candles are among the most striking of all astilbe varieties and bloom in late summer when few other shade perennials are at their peak.
