Visions in White Chinese Astilbe

Plant in moist to wet, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep to retain moisture.

Water deeply and consistently throughout the growing season- do not allow the soil to dry out. Chinese astilbe is more heat and drought tolerant than other types but still performs best with reliable moisture. Fertilize in spring and after flowering with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Divide every 3–4 years in spring or fall. The pure white, feathery plumes bloom later in the season than most astilbes, extending the shade garden display well into summer.
