Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in moist to wet, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch generously to retain moisture.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently- never allow the soil to dry out completely, as astilbe declines quickly in dry conditions. Fertilize in spring and after flowering with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Divide every 3–4 years in spring or fall when the center of the clump begins to die out. One of the earliest astilbes to bloom, with bright white plumes. A classic and reliable shade perennial.
