Planting Tips

Plant in moist to wet, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep to retain moisture.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently throughout the growing season- never allow the soil to dry out. Astilbe is one of the most moisture-dependent perennials and will brown out quickly in dry conditions. Fertilize in spring and after flowering with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Divide every 3–4 years in spring or fall when the center begins to die out. One of the earliest astilbes to bloom, with bright carmine-pink plumes- a cheerful and reliable classic.
