Pink Elf Barrenwort

Plant in moist to dry, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Water regularly after planting; once established barrenwort is quite tolerant of dry shade- making it one of the most useful groundcovers for difficult spots under trees. Cut old foliage to the ground in late winter before the delicate spring flowers emerge so they can be appreciated without the distraction of old leaves. Divide every 4–5 years in early spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant.
