Frostkiss® Penny's Pink Lenten Rose

Plant in spring or fall in a shaded or partially shaded spot with moist, humus-rich soil. Lenten roses thrive in the same conditions as hostas and ferns — cool, moist, organic soil under the canopy of deciduous trees is ideal. Space plants 18–24 inches apart, incorporate compost into the planting area, and water thoroughly. Mulch 2–3 inches deep.

In late winter, before the flower stems emerge, cut off all the old foliage close to the ground — this showcases the blooms and removes any overwintered fungal issues on old leaves. Once flowering begins, simply enjoy the show. Lenten roses are very long lived and low maintenance. They self-seed gradually over time. No regular fertilizing is needed in organically rich soil.
