First Frost Hosta

Plant in spring or fall in moist, humus-rich soil in partial to full shade, spacing 24–30 inches apart. First Frost is an outstanding hosta with striking blue-green leaves edged in creamy yellow that turns white as the season progresses. It is a vigorous, medium-sized hosta that performs reliably across a wide range of conditions. Incorporate compost into the planting area and water well. Mulch to retain moisture.

Keep soil consistently moist throughout the growing season. Remove tattered or slug-damaged leaves as needed. Divide clumps every four to five years in spring. Fertilize lightly in spring.
