Shadowland® Empress Wu Hosta

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 4–6 feet apart- this is a truly enormous hosta. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Water consistently and generously throughout the season. Monitor for slugs and snails. Cut back all foliage in late fall after frost. Divide every 5–6 years in spring if desired. Fertilize lightly in spring. Empress Wu is the largest hosta in existence, capable of reaching 4 feet tall and 6 feet wide with leaves over two feet long. The massive, deeply textured, blue-green leaves are extraordinary. Give it a prominent spot where its incredible scale can be fully appreciated in the shade garden.
