Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 24–30 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Water consistently throughout the season. Slugs and snails are the primary pests. The foliage emerges puckered and blue-green with a creamy center, and the colors shift through the season- a dynamic and interesting variety. Cut back all foliage in late fall.
