Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained to average soil in partial to full shade, spacing 12–18 inches apart. Pink Pewter is a spotted deadnettle with attractively silver-splashed foliage and soft pink flowers in spring. It spreads readily to form a dense groundcover in shaded settings. Incorporate compost into the planting area and water well. Mulch lightly to retain moisture.

Care Tips

Cut back hard in midsummer if plants look tired or spread too aggressively — deadnettle recovers quickly and produces fresh, attractive new growth within a few weeks. Keep soil consistently moist. Divide when clumps become overcrowded. Fertilize lightly in spring. The silver-splashed foliage brightens shaded areas and provides season-long interest beyond the spring flowers. An easy, versatile groundcover for shaded borders and under trees.
