Water consistently and generously- Ligularia requires reliable moisture and will wilt in afternoon sun and dry soil. Afternoon shade is beneficial in most climates. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. The dramatic, upright, orange-yellow flower spikes in midsummer shoot up like rockets above the large, bold foliage- an extraordinary architectural effect. Largely pest-free when properly sited with reliable moisture and afternoon shade.
