Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained soil in partial to full shade, spacing 12–18 inches apart. Twinkle Toes is a lungwort variety with attractive, silver-spotted foliage and cheerful, bicolor flowers that open pink and fade to blue as they age — a charming spring display. Incorporate compost into the planting area and water well. Mulch lightly. Avoid hot, dry sites.

Care Tips

After the spring bloom, cut back all foliage to the ground if it looks tired in summer — fresh, new, attractively spotted leaves will emerge within a few weeks. Keep soil consistently moist. Divide every three to four years in spring. No fertilizing needed in organically rich soil. The silver-spotted foliage provides attractive year-round interest beyond the spring bloom period. One of the most charming and easy-care perennials for shaded garden settings.
