Planting Tips

Plant in spring in average, well-drained soil- does not need rich or heavily amended beds. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Choose a permanent location, as this plant strongly resents being moved.

Care Tips

Water regularly the first 1–2 seasons while the deep root system establishes; then very drought tolerant. Do not divide or transplant once established. May look modest the first year or two- this is normal. Leave seed pods for winter interest. Deer resistant and virtually maintenance-free.
