Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 12–15 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Good drainage is essential.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent flowers for continuous bloom over a very long season. Shear back by one-third midseason if plants become leggy. Cut back in early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. The vivid, cranberry-red flowers are deeply colored and richly toned, produced prolifically over a very long season with the spicy-sweet clove fragrance characteristic of all dianthus.
