Evening Rose Rose Mallow

Plant in moist, well-drained to average soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch generously. Mark the crown- hardy hibiscus is very late to emerge in spring.

Water consistently throughout the growing season. Blooms on new wood- cut back to 6 inches from the ground in early spring. Fertilize in spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Largely pest-free. Evening Rose produces enormous, soft, rosy-pink flowers with a gentle, evening-light quality- a warm, luminous color that is particularly beautiful in the late summer garden. Produced continuously from midsummer through fall. Very late to emerge in spring- do not assume it has died before late May or June.
