Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently after planting; moderately drought tolerant once established in shade. Trim tattered foliage in early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Fertilize lightly in spring. Largely pest-free. Evening Gown has large, dramatically veined, deep burgundy-wine leaves that are elegant and refined throughout the season. The Dressed Up® series is known for exceptional leaf size and intense, saturated color. Tall, airy flower wands in early summer provide additional ornamental interest.
