Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 4–5 feet apart- this is a very large hosta. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Care Tips

Water consistently and generously throughout the season. Monitor for slugs and snails. Cut back all foliage in late fall after frost. Divide every 5–6 years in spring if desired. Fertilize lightly in spring. Gigantosaurus earns its name- it forms a giant mound of large, heavily textured, deeply corrugated, blue-green leaves with enormous presence in the landscape. Site it where its impressive scale can be fully appreciated in the shade garden.
