Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Space 4–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the base.

Care Tips

Water consistently after planting; once established it is moderately drought tolerant. Prune lightly in late spring to maintain the naturally narrow, columnar form. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid fertilizer. Castle Spire® is a male-female hybrid with attractive, dark evergreen foliage on a very narrow, upright plant. The red berries in fall and winter provide excellent ornamental interest and wildlife value. Monitor for scale insects. Largely otherwise pest-free. An excellent, refined, narrow evergreen holly for tight spaces.
