Plant in average, well-drained soil. Provide a trellis, fence, or support. Space 6–8 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Prune lightly after the main flush of bloom to shape and encourage additional flowering. Fertilize lightly in spring. Unlike Asian honeysuckles, this native selection is not invasive. Kintzley's Ghost™ is renowned for its extraordinary, silvery-blue, stacked, disc-shaped bracts that appear below the flower clusters- these ghostly, luminous blue-gray discs are uniquely ornamental and persist long after the creamy-yellow flowers fade. The tubular flowers are attractive to hummingbirds. Largely pest-free.
