Luminary® Backlight Tall Garden Phlox

Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly. Good air circulation is important for mildew prevention.

Water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead spent flower clusters to extend bloom and prevent self-seeding. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Monitor for powdery mildew — the Luminary® series has improved mildew resistance. Fertilize lightly in spring. Backlight produces vivid flower clusters with a bright, luminous quality — the flowers seem to glow as if backlit by warm light. Highly attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds over a long season from midsummer through fall.
