Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 3–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly. Adaptable to clay, rocky, and poor soils.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is highly drought tolerant and adaptable to a wide range of soils. Prune out the oldest canes at the base in early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring if desired. Proud Berry® produces an exceptional display of vivid, coral-pink to rose berries that clothe the arching stems from fall through winter — more abundantly and brightly colored than the standard species.
