Plant in average to moist, well-drained soil. Space 5–7 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Water consistently after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Little pruning is needed. Plant with another viburnum variety for cross-pollination and the best berry display. Fertilize lightly in spring. Cardinal Candy® produces an exceptionally prolific and vivid display of candy-red berries in fall and winter- among the heaviest berry producers in the viburnum family. The white spring flowers and good fall foliage complete a superb multi-season display. Outstanding for birds. Largely pest-free.
