The Fairy Rose

Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 24–30 inches apart. The Fairy is an enduring classic polyantha rose with masses of tiny, soft pink double flowers produced continuously in large sprays from summer through fall. It is highly disease-resistant, very cold-hardy, and adaptable to a wide range of conditions. Dig a wide planting hole, add compost, and water deeply.

Prune in early spring by removing dead wood and reducing canes by about one-third. Deadheading is not strictly necessary — The Fairy is largely self-cleaning, but removing spent clusters speeds reblooming. Fertilize every four to six weeks. Water consistently. The Fairy is one of the most adaptable and easy-to-grow roses available, thriving with minimal attention. Its continuous mass of tiny pink flowers over an extremely long season is outstanding.
