New Dawn Climbing Rose

Plant in spring or fall near a very sturdy support — a large arbor, pergola, or robust trellis. New Dawn is an exceptionally vigorous, large climbing rose that can eventually cover a substantial area. Dig a wide, generous planting hole, incorporate compost, and water deeply. Apply mulch. Choose the planting site with New Dawn's eventual large size in mind.

Prune in early spring by removing dead wood and some of the oldest canes. Train long canes as horizontally as possible along the support to maximize lateral branching and flowering. New Dawn produces masses of soft, blush-pink, fragrant flowers in early summer with good repeat bloom. Very cold-hardy and disease-resistant. Fertilize in spring. One of the most beautiful and reliable large climbing roses ever introduced — a true classic.
